A major event on the p-team calendar each year is the p-team trials. The trials take place on the evening of the Wellington 10k road champs in late August. Competitors are required to show the stamina and courage that will be necessary to represent Scottish at the National Road Relays. The event consists of a solid pre-event meal, followed by a series of events through Wellington's finer drinking establishments at which points are awarded for various activities.
